Cultural Center Admission

 

Admission to the Choctaw Cultural Center covers entry into permanent exhibitions, the changing exhibition gallery, the Luksi Activity Center, the Living Village, Kowi Chito Theater and Cultural Center programs. Some special events may be ticketed separately. Admission is not required to visit Champuli Café or Hvshi Gift Store.

Celebrate Fourth of July Night

 

Don't miss out on the Fourth of July celebration at the Choctaw Cultural Center. Bring the whole family and watch the fireworks from the Choctaw Casino & Resorts at the Cultural Center's front patio or parking lot. Enjoy family-friendly food and fun!

Frybread Workshop

 

Participants will learn how to make fry bread from Patricia Wood. Participants will have their own fry bread-making kit.

Registration for this workshop is $20.00 per person.

Fingerweaving

 

Fingerweaving is an ancient art used by our ancestors to make cloth out of various fibers and materials. This method was used to make clothing, blankets, and belts that are sometimes worn with traditional clothing. Join us to learn about this rare artform and create your own piece of hanging art with fun materials! 

This is included with admission to the Choctaw Cultural Center.

Braiding (Ages 5-12)

 

Our ancestors used many methods to create clothing and useful tools like rope. One method was ‘braiding’ fibers together. These pieces were used for fishing, construction and much more! Join us in this kids’ workshop to learn more about these crafts and create your own hanging art! 

Parent or guardian supervision required for the duration of the workshop.

Stickball Headband Stitching

 

Are you a stickball player or fan? Show your team spirit by creating a diamond headband that became popular in the ‘70s! Our players often wear diamond headbands with the colors of their team to go along with their aprons. Join us in this adult workshop where you will learn how to fold and stitch diamonds onto a headband and show off your stickball pride!

Diamond Headband Making (Ages 5-12)

 

Are your kids stickball enthusiasts in the making? Join us in this kid-friendly workshop to create your own diamond headband to show your team spirit!
