Cultural Center Admission

 

Admission to the Choctaw Cultural Center covers entry into permanent exhibitions, the changing exhibition gallery, the Luksi Activity Center, the Living Village, Kowi Chito Theater and Cultural Center programs. Some special events may be ticketed separately. Admission is not required to visit Champuli Café or Hvshi Gift Store.

Traditional Choctaw Fry Bread

 

We know everybody loves frybread, but did you know that the modern version of frybread isn’t actually a traditional dish? Our Choctaw ancestors did have their own version of frybread made from cornmeal, though! Join us at the Choctaw Cultural Center on Fridays and Saturdays in September and October to learn how to make traditional Choctaw frybread. 

This is included with admission to the Choctaw Cultural Center.

Admission is complimentary for Choctaw tribal members and Cultural Center members.

Gourd Painting (Ages 5-12)

 

Did you know that gourds were very important to our Choctaw ancestors? On Saturdays in September and October, the Choctaw Cultural Center is offering gourd painting workshops designed especially for children. In addition to painting gourds, kids will learn about all of the ways our ancestors used them. 

Parent or guardian supervision required for the duration of the workshop.

This is included with admission to the Choctaw Cultural Center.
